WhatsApp is Getting a Date-Based Message Search Feature

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that would let users search for messages using dates. The feature,
which was first spotted by WA Beta Info, would add a calendar icon inside conversations. When
tapped, the icon would bring up a date picker. Once a date has been selected, WhatsApp would
show all the messages sent or received on that day.
The date-based message search feature is available to beta testers right now. If you’re a beta tester,
you can check if the feature is available to you by going into a conversation and looking for the
calendar icon. If it’s there, you should be able to start using the feature. The feature is expected to
roll out to all users in the coming weeks.
The ability to search for messages using dates would be a welcomed addition to WhatsApp.
Currently, if you want to find a particular message on WhatsApp, you have to scroll through your
phone screen until you find it. This can be tedious, especially if you have long conversations with
multiple people.
With the date-based message search feature, all you have to do is remember the date on which you
sent or received the message and then select that date from the calendar picker. This should make it
much easier to find specific messages on WhatsApp. The feature would also be useful for finding old
photos and videos that have been shared on WhatsApp.
The date-based message search feature is currently available to beta testers and is expected to roll
out to all users in the coming weeks.
If you’re looking for an easier way to search for messages on WhatsApp, just remember the date.
The Meta-owned platform is in the process of releasing an ability that will allow users to jump to a
certain date within a conversation. This means that instead of scrolling through your phone screen in
search of a particular message, you can just remember the date and select it from the calendar
picker. The feature is currently available to beta testers and is expected to roll out to all users in the
coming weeks.
