South America is a continent and land full of Mysterious Places . Apart from it everything we now know still retains elements of some mystery in it. So for those of you who are looking to discover the unknown and the unexpected but fascinating list of ten places that are located in South America.

1. Easter Island

3. Mount Roraima, Guyana, Venezuela, and Brazil

4. The Nazca Lines, Peru

The legendary Nazca Lines is near the southern Peruvian town of Nasca, the Nasca Lines are an awesome set of geoglyphs made by shallow inscribing in the middle of the desert.  The Line is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its archaeological importance.

 5. Salar de Uyuni Bolivia

The world’s biggest salt desert. It is also known as the Dalí Desert because it looks like the famed Spanish musician’s paints. Some of the scenes of Star Wars: The Last Jedi–  a well-known Star Wars movie franchise– were also shot in these locations.

7. Caño Cristales Colombia

The famous river which is located in the Colombian district of Meta is known as the “Liquid Rainbow” because of the red, yellow, blue, black, and eco-friendly shades that went through the water as the outcome of plants, minerals, and light.

8. Puma Punku Bolivia

Puma Punku of the Mysterious Places in deserted ancient city, Puma Punku remains one of the most secretive places on earth. The old settlement right next to the Andes and the Titicaca Lake was made Incan Empire in around 1470. Although it’s believed that almost 400,000 people lived in Puma Punku, the Incans found the place completely empty.

Puma Punku is great due to the flawless precision made by its architects to cut, smooth, and assemble its monolith structures. Some of them even have geometrical drill holes, something very fascinating for people with no possible access to electric equipment at such an ancient. 9. Easter Island Chile

The statutes are expected to be made from 1100 to 1680 AD, no one knows actually what reason they serve or how they were moved when the invention of the time would have made it difficult and extremely hard to do such monumental work.

10. Amazon Rainforest Brazil

The incomparable Amazon Rainforest is the largest tropical forest on the planet Earth, with the highest density of plant and animal species in this world. Sixty percent of the rainforest is placed in Brazil with some in Peru and Columbia, and others in Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.
